Recently, officers of Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC exposed some members of the RCCG led by Pastor E.A. Adeboye, that perpetrated fraudulent act in the church’s treasury. The highly respected and reputable man of God, Pastor Adeboye didn’t label their acts to be sacrilegious, he didn’t say the EFCC has done wrong, neither did he abhor what should be exposed but sent a letter of commendation to the team through one of his pastors who exposed the fraud to the public.

This is a bit of the the news on the web:

The Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, has commended the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, for being “an agent of transformation”.

This commendation was given on Wednesday by one of the regional Ministers of the Church, Mark Barango, while receiving N11.9 million (N11, 984, 844, 11) recovered and returned to the church by the EFCC.

“My impression with the work of the EFCC is that it is perfect, perfect, perfect. The EFCC is an agent of transformation. Their work is perfect and the church is grateful that the money is returned to us”, he said.

Ishaq Salihu, South- South Zonal Head of the EFCC, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State handed over the money to him.

The money was stolen by a banker and the Account Officer of the church, Ameh Idakwoji, in a web of fraudulent diversion and suppression of the finances of the church.

  1. Evang.Ezekiel Adegor says:

Only those who are thieving under the cover of God’s work will be afraid of EFCC. If you cannot pass EFCC test of transparency and accountability, how will you pass God’s test of righteousness?

  2. Concern member. says:

The social orientation of Nigeria society has breed much atrocious acts that has rendered that society vulnerable. There is thieves everywhere, in the government, in the bank, in the homes, in the family set ups, so stealing has been a cultural phenomenon of their ways of live. Secondly, EFCC has no right to infiltrate into church affairs, it was never set up to do that. I think something is wrong with Nigeria judiciary system, or their is conflict of policy between the military and civilian government. Or Nigeria still been run as anarchy Government.

  3. V/M/S/Ev E.O Ajayi says:

Evangelist Alonge, kindly continue with your good work. Let people who are negative minded towards the Chuch but behaving as if they want the progress of the church continue criticising your good work. You should know Pastor E.A Adeboye for who he is. Celestial Church of Christ leadership need to wake up to reality. And the time is now or never.
