Sequel to the story of City of David Parish’s on-going brouhaha, one of the members of the church obviously under Diocese has made shocking revelation concerning how the church led by Baba Lagun Adesanya gave a whopping N500k (Five Hundred Thousand Naira Only) to the widow of the deceased, Sup. Evang Adeniyi Badejo
In his reaction, he said #CNO is trying to ridicule the respectable and amiable elder of the church, Baba Lagun, far from it, we do not have any course to do that. Baba Lagun is a father to us and we will respect him for whatever position he maintains. Obviously, Mr. Osikoya didn;t read our report well, there was no mention of the Diocese or Baba Lagun marginalising anyone. The report was for the generality of the church.
This is the reaction from Osikoya Oluwaseun, “Please don’t use this platform to blackmail Baba Lagun or Nigeria Diocese. I don’t really know what went wrong at City of David in ijebu Ode but I just want to correct the writer. According to the writer, he said maybe because Nigeria Diocese didn’t take good care of Mama Badejo and that led to the problem between the shepherds being transferred to the church and Mama Badejo.
Note this sir; immediately the burial of Dad Badejo, Nigeria Diocese through Baba Lagun gave Mummy Badejo #500,000 cheque in the presence of everybody. And #500,000 then was like #5m now because there was nothing like recessions then. I believe my concern is that I respect Baba Lagun and Nigeria Diocese, because they tried by compensating the widows of their late shepherd.
Take for instance, till now, the authority at the Ketu didn’t do anything in compensating the widows of late shepherd of Baba Badaru of Abiodun Parish also the widow of former shepherd of C.C.C. Mende, Maryland Parish etc. So for me, I will only advice mummy Badejo to take things easy in other not to spoil her late husband’s legacy. So help her God. Amen”
