Can Our Shepherds Be 100% Perfect?

I have heard countless times where our shepherds do justify their wrongs as it is not possible to be perfect wholistically.

This kind of mentality of being not perfect has caused a lot of harm, eating the church and robbing the youth and the church of their blessings. The Bible says we can’t continue to live in sin and still want the grace of God to abound.

If we can follow the standard of God as stated in the Bible, we can also be perfect like him. Let us remember that Jesus was also tempted by the same temptation we are facing now.

The Bible emphasizes perfection In Matthew 5:48 ‘Therefore, be perfect, just as your heavenly Father is perfect.’ The Bible wouldn’t have mentioned that we should be perfect as our father in heaven is perfect if it were not possible for us to be made perfect in all ramifications.

Our shepherd should stop justifying sin by hiding under the umbrella. No one is perfect. We can be perfect in every way, and we must not let some of our shepherds mislead us with such words. A sinful life is a rewardless life. We should endeavor to make the Holy Bible our guide.

Don’t expect priests to be perfect when you’re not. We can only try to live a perfect life for we are all conceived and born in sins. It’s JESUS who can justify his servants.
