The truth must be told probably it could bring changes which will also foster the progress of the church. The church is blessed with talented individuals, especially in the choir. The church’s ignorance about these uprising talented members is a bone of contention.
The activities of the choir in the church can’t be overemphasised. The choir is a section in the church which needs good care. However, otherwise is the case. The way they’re treated is disheartening especially on harvest days or any other ceremonial functions. After much stress to make the day great, the food given to them will be as if they’re beggars. No fish, no meat, no drinks. What you’ll see is bone instead of meat. Some choirs don’t even get food, not even pure water. Rather, they get insulted by it.
They don’t regard the choir in terms of feeding and proper care, but they recognise them when they need their services. Some parishes will park ÀJẸ́KÙ (remnant) for the choir. Why this maltreatment? Most times, the way they dribble the choir especially when there’s ìpèsè (feast) is unbearable.
Many elders’ mentality are far-fetched. Their philosophy hinders the growth of the church not only musically but in all ramifications because without a choir, the probability of a church standing is narrow. Let’s come to the instrument section. Instrumentalists play a major role within the choir. Some churches invite instrumentalists to play especially on special occasions, yet they don’t arrange anything for them. They’ll say, “God bless you”, “it’s the work of God”
James 2:15 If a brother or sister be n.a.k.ed, and destitute of daily food,
16 And one of you say unto them, depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
The mistake these elders make is that they believe the instrument is not learned; it’s natural. Consequently, players are expected to play without charge. Yes, someone can decide not to charge to play an instrument but that would be a personal affair. Today some elders mandate it.
I was brainwashed before, but now, I have come to my sense. The brainwashing is that “DON’T COLLECT MONEY WHEN YOU PLAY INSTRUMENT FOR CHURCH, IT’S A TRADE OF GLORY.” Who told you they’re trading their glory? Isn’t a general saying, “use what you have to get what you need?” Some people are sustaining with that instrument. Okay, they don’t trade their glory but they’re suffering, unable to take care of themselves. No provision for them to survive. Do you think they’ll be happy? Do you think they’ll deliver? What do you say about those who make music their career?
You don’t want them to charge. How have you been taking care of them? Isn’t that abuse? Using them for nothing. Some people will say, it’s God of Oshoffa that taught them; that’s how it is. Every child born in Celestial church usually knows how to play musical instruments automatically. What a dead brainwashing tactic! Who told you they don’t learn instruments before knowing them in CCC? What’s the percentage of those who know how to play the piano, guitar, saxophone, trumpet, and others without learning with money? Where they acquire the skills, didn’t they pay?
This is one of the reasons we lose choristers to other denominations because they know their value. Still keep having the mindset that, “if 10 leave 100 will replace them. Hmmm… Shepherds, prophets and elders in CCC, it’s better to do the needful because it’s called “CARNIVAL”, ó ma ká láìpẹ̀, if care isn’t taken.
Jeremiah 23:1 Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the LORD.
2 Therefore thus saith the LORD God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith the LORD.
Let those that have ears and wisdom understand these things.
