The gospel music scene is saturated with many artistes with different styles of composition and delivery of the message carried in their act. Many are in it for the ‘fun’ of it while we have a handful of them who are really worth being referred to as genuine gospel artistes. Foluwakemi Olonimoyo popularly called Foluke Otoge, daughter of late Superior Prophetess Olayinka Olonimoyo and Most Superior Evang. Oluwole Olonimoyo of CCC Noah’s Ark Cathedral, Governors’ Road Ikotun, area of Lagos, belongs to the latter.

The beautiful and naturally endowed lady, who recently released her debut album, ‘Otoge’ Liberation, is aiming to be the best that she can be within the gospel circuit. The Grace Polytechnic Banking and Finance, ND Holder, Foluke, who is currently studying  Mathematics at the National Open University, Lagos, regrets not starting her musical journey much earlier.

Her music company, House of Ajike has produced the 4-track album, two live performances and two studio recordings. Hear her, “We decided to combine the two together so that people can understand the diversity of the musical background of Foluke.”

The passion-filled chorister at CCC, Olajuwon Tejuosho Cathedral is looking forward to a day when all gospel artistes irrespective of denomination can come, work together under one umbrella just as the body of Christ is one.

Foluke is of the firm belief that a gospel artist must be able to perform at any religious-based event or sing under a platform that will not segregate based on denomination as long as the message is Christ-related.

One of the tasks she wants to accomplish this year is to perform at the annual House On The Rock Musical Concert tagged Experience, this she intends to do with a statement by projecting Celestial Church of Christ at the concert in her white garment popularly known as Sutana.

The multi-talented and delectable lady is a delight to watch on the keyboard and violin. All thanks to her early incursion into playing music while in the church premises as a shepherd’s daughter. She has been everywhere to perform, RCCG, Christ Embassy to mention a few.

About Celestial music, she has this to say, “For Celestial, we should be appreciating the Luli Concert organisers for initiating an international standard concert that can rub shoulders with the likes of Experience Concert and others, the maiden edition was a dope and in fact, now we know a platform has been created for us too to make Celestial Music acceptable in the global market.”

Kikilomo is very unfortunate that you as a man can talk like this, all I know is that who God has lifted up no one on earth can bring him down by God grace Foluka has been lifted up and no amount of condemnation can bring her down in Jesus might name, so think of how you will move forward.
