We are focusing on the family this time with our new week story. And it’s about sexuality. Well, it may shock many of our readers why such a topic has graced this page, let not deceive ourselves, we cannot continue to shy away from this fact that a man’s sexuality has a tremendous impact on his emotional, marital and spiritual well-being. Even to the ordained priests, sex means a lot. (Songs of Solomon 7 v sex-folake-ididowo12)

For married couple, one of the biggest differences between a man and a woman is the fact that men experience sex as a legitimate physical need. Just as your body tells you when you’re hungry, thirsty, or tired, same way a man feels when he needs sexual release. Men’s sexual desire is impacted by what’s around them but is determined by biological factors, specifically the presence of testosterone in his body.

A woman’s sexual desire is far more connected to emotions than a man’s sex drive. A man can experience sexual arousal apart from any emotional attachment. He can look at a naked woman and feel intense physical desire for her, while at the same time he may be completely devoted to and in love with his wife. For most women, this just doesn’t compute. A fundamental difference in the wiring of male and female sexuality is that men can separate sex from a relationship while for a woman, the two are usually intertwined.

Most of the broken marriages we have in the churches today are due to the manner in which the two parties have managed their sexuality. It’s either the woman is not interested in it too much and the husband is a ‘Votron’ in the game. Or, maybe the husband is not as strong as the wife and there is no way he can satisfy her sexual urges.

For those men who think it’s the duty of women to take care of the homes. Read what God said in Genesis 2:15-16 “The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. 16 And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden.”

If your marriage has a crack, it’s the duty of you men to mend the broken walls as required by God. Halleluiah!
