Greed, Selfishness At The Forefront Of Affairs In My Church

March 28, 2017 / Alonge Michael / Saints & Sinners / 1 Comment »

Apostle Paul wrote in one of his books that women are not to hold positions of authority in the church; but he does not want to leave the impression that just any Man is qualified. No man is qualified to be a spiritual leader in the church just because of his gender.

Every nation has its leader, the Church has its head too, most time, Jesus Christ is considered to be the head of the church but people are given a task of leading the church in Christ-manner and they should govern according to the laws of the land and according to the word of God.

My church where I am a bonafide member, the leadership has turned it into political circus where all kinds of things are displayed. The environment of the pastor of my church is filled with all sorts of characters you can think of. This has really taken the shine off that sacred position occupied by my pastor.

My pastor is silent because of the fear of the unknown, where is Holy Spirit to lead my pastor right and rescue him from the shackles of rogues, thugs etc he’s surrounded with?

Just as Apostle Paul said in 1 Timothy 3, anyone who wants to become a Bishop (Pastor) should be blameless, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, of good behavior, hospitable, able to teach; not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not covetous; one who rules his own house well, having his children in submission with all reverence (for if a man does not know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?); not a novice, lest being puffed up with pride he fall into the same condemnation as the devil. Moreover he must have a good testimony among those who are outside, lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.”

That we will be silent, it’s a dream that will never come to pass because  the law of the land in which any church is planted should be strictly adhered to and respected, we are here and we are there.

The problem is we are not doing the will of the Father anymore, many corruptions going on across all denominations. We don’t know who is who anymore. Revive us oh dear lord. Amen
