Well, that Celestial Church doesn’t belong to this class of people it’s a great joy indeed for me. Sometime when people talk ill of our church in this light, I maintain my silence not because I don’t have something to say but because the people who have planted schools in the name of their churches are doing so to enrich themselves and not to ameliorate the educational standard of the poor or widows’ children in their midst. This is nothing but gospel truth.
Ijo Mimo is a church under the supervision of the Holy Spirit, if it has been impossible for us to have citadels of higher learning like other denomination; this is simply telling us that, that is how Holy Spirit has ordained it.
As schools all over Nigeria are about to resume for a new session, Nollywood actor Prince Eke ponders on the expensive fee of schools owned by churches.
Hear his submission, “How can a church own a school and the poor can’t attend it…? How can you be teaching people how they can make it to the kingdom of God when they can’t enter your own earthly ‘kingdom’, built with people’s tithes and donations…? How can Christian schools be the most expensive schools in Nigeria now…? How can one relate this to the term “Christianity” with regards to the “Early Christian Community” ?
Note: Most of the good people in the world now have nothing to do with Christianity, just like most Christians are far from it too. Another academic session and parents are paying through their noses to send the kids back to school. A word will always be enough for the wise! Happy a nice day!”
