No love is greater than mom’s love; no care is greater than dad’s care. This touched me greatly; the reason is because while things were getting better for me, my dad was not alive to eat the fruits of his hard labour.
To love one’s parents and treat them with loving care is the greatest honour you can ever give. For you will only know their value when you see their empty chair. A lot of children have quickly forgotten that while they are busy growing up, their parents are also growing old, what you are able to give to them at their old age is the best way of paying them back of their love, care and attention over you as a child.
This story touched my heart; I hope it would do same to yours too. Read it and make good use of it.
“A man took his aged father to a restaurant for a dinner. Father, being very old and weak, while eating dropped food on his shirt and trousers. Others diners watched him in disgust while his son was calm. After he finished eating, his son, who was not at all embarrassed, quietly took him to the wash room, wiped the food particles, removed the stains, combed his hair and fitted his spectacles firmly. When they came out, the entire restaurant was watching them in dead silence, not able to grasp how someone could embarrass themselves publicly like that.
The son settled the bill and started walking out with his father. At that time, an old man amongst the diners called out to the son and asked him “Don’t you think you have left something behind?” The son replied, “No Sir, i haven’t?” The old man retorted, “Yes, you have! You left a lesson for every son and hope for every father.”
The restaurant went silent again! To care for those who once cared for us is one of the highest honours. what role are you playing now for them?
