Leadership Is Not About Title, It’s Action And Leading By Example

April 3, 2017 / Alonge Michael / Code Of Conduct / 1 Comment »

The major task of a leader is to get his people from where they are to where they have not been before. This should be the primary objective of every leader. Any leader who doesn’t have quality of a leader in him will see the way and end up taking his followers to a wrong path.

A leader is the one who knows the way, goes the way and shows the way to his subjects. Leadership is all about growing yourself and growing others. The truth is, real leaders don’t create followers, they create more leaders to take the mantle of leadership from them. So, if your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are indeed a leader.

I was inspired by series of leadership messages on the Facebook timeline of my friend, Olanrewaju Oluwatoyin Oluwasakin from Majemu Oluwa cathedral, Pleasure, Ile-Epo, Oke-Odo, Lagos, who gave deep definition of who a leader should be.

Who Is A Leader?

A leader is a person who accepts responsibility both for him/herself and for others.

A leader is a person who is ready to work on himself diligently and work for others faithfully.

A leader is a person who adds value to himself and to others.

A leader is a person who is ready to put himself in the spotlight not for personal gains or aggrandizement but for the advancement of public good that will benefit others.
