The men who had leprosy reached the edge of the camp and entered one of the tents. They ate and drank, and carried away silver, gold and clothes, and went off and hid them. They returned and entered another tent and took some things from it and hid them also. Then they said to each other, “We’re not doing right. This is a day of good news and we are keeping it to ourselves. If we wait until daylight, punishment will overtake us. Let’s go at once and report this to the royal palace”. (2Kings 7:8-9NIV)
Leprosy is a deadly disease. No one easily associate or identify with a leper. The lepers in the above scripture were outside the gate of the city. By right they are citizens of Samaria but they were not allowed to enter and take their rightful place. They were rejected; they saw them as good for nothing. But when it was time for a great prophecy to be fulfilled, God used them.
Your own case may not be a physical illness. It is possible that people have spoken ill of you, or people have rejected you because of your present situation. May be you have been told that you cannot make it. Your present situation does not matter. Hear what God is saying. “if breakthrough came into a nation through ordinary lepers in the time of prophet Elisha, you too will also be a source of breakthrough to everyone around you” The blessing that your world is waiting for will manifest through you in Jesus name. Just keep trusting God.
