I want to ask you this simple question “Are you living a good life”? Remember the Bible says “Do not follow the crowd in doing wrong…” (Exodus 23:2 NIV).You may be thinking that it is okay to do whatever your mates are doing as a result of peer pressure.
The reason for your behaviour could be because you want to get on better and fit in well with your mates. Whenever you are under pressure to do the wrong thing always take a deep breath and think of the consequences. Always try and remember whose child you are and the family that you are from. As for those young men and women in university, I know the pressure level is high.
Not only that you want to have your own space and do your own thing, you want to be seen as being cool. There is nothing wrong with all of that as long as you do not abuse your freedom. You must be craving for more and more freedom after all you are no longer a child or living under your parents’ roof. Let me remind you here that too much freedom at times lead to trouble unexpectedly.
Ask yourself, if you get into trouble now will your mates be there to stand by you or will they abandon you? The honest answer is that the majority, if not all, will just walk away so do not count on them. I know that you want to enjoy your freedom it feels as if you are on top of the world. Your parents may be miles and miles away from you but remember that God is closer to you and He is everywhere, so watch out! Are you doing the right thing?
Do not forget that you will be asked to account for your behaviour whether good or bad one day. Are you ready to give account of your behaviour? It is never too early to live right but it could be too late when you find yourself on the wrong side of the law. I want you to answer the following question truthfully. Are you doing the right thing when you are on your own? Are you doing what your parents expected of you? Do you live your life like somebody from a good Christian home?
Will God be proud of your behaviour when you get to heaven? If the answer to any of the above questions is “NO” then it is time for a reality check. You need to adjust and buckle up. You need to change your behaviour for better and start doing the right thing. Live Right.
