The Secret Of Early Apostles During Their Missionary Works

May 27, 2017 / Alonge Michael / Uncategorized / Add Comment »

Preaching is one of the instruments of the body of Christ used by any of the 5 fold ministers (prophet,  evangelist,  teacher,  apostle and shepherd).  In CCC, preaching is mostly used by evangelists and shepherds during sermons, revivals and other spiritual programmes.  Thus, most evangelists (who some call revivalist) are preachers, but the reverse is not necessarily true.

Hence, evangelism involves preaching.  In CCC, preaching has been carried out especially by our shepherds without teaching contrary to the expectation of a standard minister of the Gospel who occupies the pastoral ministry. 1Ti 3:2 A bishop then … apt to teach;

This is why the heart of many has failed to experience a complete change and transformation (including the preachers themselves). This is accounted for in manifestation of acts of the sinful nature like adultery, fornication, etc.

This is why many still live a life of sin cycle under one addiction or the other and not experiencing the power of liberation from sin.

You can’t grow a matured flock with only preaching. Teaching must also be done effectively and accurately alongside. This was the secret of early apostles during their missionary works.  See the following.

Act 5:42 And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ. View more

Act 15:35 Paul also and Barnabas continued in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also. View more

Act 28:31 Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him. View more

Rom 2:21 Thou therefore which teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal? View more

Col 1:28 Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect

As ministers of God in CCC (shepherd, prophets , evangelists), do not only preach Jesus, but also teach Jesus. Teaching can be incorporated during sermons,  prophecies with the wisdom of the spirit and not necessarily reserved for Bible study classes. It establishes the faith of listeners and gives them sound footing.

Time has come for ministers and listeners to go beyond spiritual gesticulations and spiritual stimuli (e.g. oro bo) and move on to life impactation with practical living manifestation.
