Moji Olaiya may be dead and buried but the soft-spoken and radiant thespian did leave some memorable things that will outlive her for generations to come. One of such is her incursion into Celestial Church of Christ.
In the 90s while Moji was still living with her parents at Bakare Bello, Gbagada area of Lagos, the late mother of two was allegededly taken to a CCC parish, ‘Ajinde Ara Ni Isa Oku,’ somewhere at Owode-Onirin, within the Ajelogo-Ikorodu Road area of Lagos. It was gathered that the young lady at that time was taken where to observe spiritual protection by her mother.
Information at our disposal has it that, while she was at ‘Ajinde Ara Ni Isa Oku’ Parish led by a prophet popularly called Baba Kekere, Pierre by name, the Shepherd was alleged to have taken an interest in the enterprising beautiful and well-cultured late actress. It is alleged that Baba Kekere made an expression of his desire to take the young and beautiful late Mojisola as a wife known, but her mum kicked against it saying it would never be the portion of her daughter to get married to a clergy.
Although, it was not really established if anything amorous happened between the prophet and the woman, who died and was given a befitting glorious burial recently.
It was jolting news to some of her close friends who were with her during her time under the protection of God at Baba Kekere’s church to learn that she had a 20-year old daughter. This is so because the love proposal between Pierre and Moji was about 20 years ago.
The antecedence of some men of God might have been one of the reasons Moji’s mother kicked against her daughter having anything marital to do with a prophet or shepherd. Moji Olaiya is gone now and indeed gone forever, here we are with all the buts and ifs…who knows what that union might have averted if Moji was really allowed to marry the shepherd? Who knows if we would still have the ever smiling Moji with us today nursing and nurturing her adorable children? Who knows? Who? No one but God knows all things and why things happen the way they are.
Effort to locate the church at that Ajelogo area of Owode-Onirin to authenticate her coming to the Parish for such exercise was futile as we were told some demolitions were carried out some years back at the location.
Rest in the bosom of your creator dearest Moji!
