What Aspect Of CCC Constitution Permits Members To Get Traditional Title?

This is a very important question, and we ought to ponder it seriously. First of all, Jesus is that nobleman who went into the far kingdom of heaven to receive His kingdom and then to eventually return back to earth to establish His rule.

Christian community does not really want to live under His laws and His authority, which they have rebelled against for over two thousand years since His resurrection. Jesus gives His believers the same amount of money, symbolic of the Holy Spirit and wisdom that God gives us when we are converted and baptized and repent of our sins.

So, if any servant or follower of Christ needs to rule any city, it’s the Kingdom of God because no matter how knowledgeable or disciplined you are, once you have mingled with the ‘world’ one is polutised already with the things of the world and getting out may be too dangerous. 1 John 2:15 “Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.”

One of our members, Shepherd in CCC, Segun Johnson Ogunmefun asked about the position of members of the church concerning traditional titles. “Please can a Shepherd be given a tradition title like Balogun, Agba Akin, Asipa or can a Shepherd become a king of a town because some are now coming to me that the king wants to see me for this kind of a thing….?” Few answers were given to him.

Bearing in mind that section 103 on the Constitution of the church says anybody who desires to become a member of Celestial Church of Christ shall:

“Renounce membership of all secret cults, societies, fraternities, etc.

Renounce the worship of all idols and fetish,

Desist from the worship of Satan and all his works, from following any fetish priests and from engaging in magic or any powers of darkness,

Renounce all titles, positions or associations which directly or indirectly conflict with the above injunctions (e.g. any type of Chieftaincy title),

Declare that living or dead, he is a full member of the Celestial Church of Christ and that on his death; he should be buried in accordance with the tenets and rites of the Celestial Church of Christ,

Sign a declaration of adherence to the above. ”

  1. Superior Evangelist (Barrister) Olawole Famakinwa says:

Section 103 of the Blue Book is unambigous and very clear as to the prohibition of members from taking or recieving traditional or honorary chietaincy titles. Let us refrain from disobeying a rule that we have voluntarily accepted on joining the Church.I have noticed elders of the alter with choral beads on their left hands as they come to church. This man is Bobagbimo of his village. If you are made a king it should be an opportunity to proclaim Christ. However, this may be dificult as an Oba is father to all religions in his domain-including the Ifa Priest and Moslems. Friendship with the world can amount to rebellion against God.
